Peace Resonate

Looking at pain-stricken situations taking place around the world, I wonder, how did we, as human beings go wrong in understanding the basic concept of peace. Everyone keeps sharing a stream of posts on peace and what it should be on Facebook and other social media sites, but, is it something we have an in-depth understanding of? Interestingly, the true meaning of peace is something I discovered recently. We understand the fundamentals of it, but our human tendencies go against it consciously or sub-consciously. That's in our very nature isn't it? Unless, we make a conscious effort, we do not budge or nudge from the harsh reality of it. Negative emotions take over - be it anger, hate, revenge, spitefulness, bitterness. And, if you take a closer look, negative emotions are far more contagious than the positive emotions. It's a never-ending disease. With all this negativity, life goes on for us, just as it is.

What I have learnt is that peace will only give substantial meaning to your life, as well as the world around you, if you apply it to your day to day routine. It begins and ends with you. So, what does this really mean? It means that no matter who you meet or what the circumstances maybe, regardless of how nasty you feel at the end of it all, you just make peace with the respective person or situation. Be it friends, family, relationships, colleagues - you name it, that's where you strive to achieve peace. Translating yourself in to a person of this nature will inspire people around you to be more peaceful as well.

Just imagine yourself in a situation where you are in a bad place with an important acquaintance who has indeed been a value addition in your life. Baseless disagreements take place, things head in the wrong direction and that's the end of it. But, in reality it didn't have to be that way right?

You could have accepted the reality of what really took place, made yourself understand the situation rationally and respected the person regardless of his/her differences. It might mean you have to be the bigger person and forgive them for something they said or did, or it might be the polar opposite you'd experience but, human beings are flawed creatures and they are bound to hurt you or let you down at some point in your life. It's a tough call for most of us, but if we don't try our level best to do this, it's always going to be chaotic in our biotics.

If we strive to be more peaceful citizens of this world, we'd be more focused without a compass, less anxious amidst our tampers, compassionate amongst aggravations. We'd be less stressed with no mess, productive amidst the quandaries, creative peace narratives and most importantly, we'd have more grey in our brain, that won't stain our pain.

More grey matter in our brains will certainly work pretty well for all of us.

Why? You may wonder.

Did you know that by obtaining a state of inner peace away from the world around us can help improve our cognition, emotional and immune responses eventually leading to positive effects on breathing and cardiorespitory control. Higher volumes of grey matter will result in positive emotions, emotional stability, and more mindful behavior including heightened focus during day-to-day living.

So how does this tie up to the idea of peace? I'd tell you how I go about it in one word.

Meditate.

This can mean different things to different people. It can mean yoga, prayer or some form of mind exercise to different people depending on their disposition. To me meditating is clearing out the junk that has caused turbulence in my mind.

Uncluttering the clutter.

Sometimes, all I need is a cup of coffee, a notepad, a pen and the picturesque blue ocean. That's it. To find that peace within yourself, you must first find yourself. And, that's exactly what I did. There is no looking back or backing down from this discovery. It's an addiction to life-long happiness by simply unburdening my burdens. Throwing away the junk into a trunk.

Who wouldn't want that?

Always remember, please remember, that life is too short for us to consume our negativity when we are left to conquer positivity. We don't have to be inclined to decline what will give us a peace of mind.
